PINELLAS PARK — The business assistance program is facing the chopping block, but the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce has gone ahead and hired a new person to run it anyway.

Park Service sets public meetings on elk management plan

The National Park Service is holding meetings across North Dakota this week to take input on options for managing elk populations in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
The Grand Forks meeting is set for 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Canad Inn.

Police tips help Surprise commerce park tighten its security

Jim Andrews will never forget being called to work on a Saturday night in June.

Waste Management gets Litchfield Park contract

Waste Management of Arizona has secured a five-year deal to provide trash-collection and recycling services to Litchfield Park, taking over a service previously provided by Allied Waste Industries Inc. of Phoenix.
The company will begin servicing the city in November and will add glass recycling.
Waste Management, owned by Waste Management Inc. of Houston, has about 980 employees in Arizona and about 500,000 customers.

Park Electrochemical posts drop in profit, revenue

Circuit-materials maker
Park Electrochemical Corp.
said Monday its fiscal third-quarter profit plunged by two-thirds as sales fell nearly 23 percent.

RV park demolished to make room for commercial space in Rifle

What used to be a mobile home park across Railroad Avenue from the Rifle City Market is now a construction site and eventually will be the home of the new 14th Street Marketplace.
The marketplace replaces the homes at the Bookcliff RV Park and Apartments and the Northway Trailer Park, just north of the Bookcliff RV Park, to make way for commercial and residential buildings.

Parker takes charge of Overland Park Chamber of Commerce

Suze Parker has no illusions about the challenge she faces as the new chairwoman of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce.
