MBDC Center
Michigan Statewide MBDC (Center) is funded by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and operated by the Detroit Renaissance Foundation, a CEO based economic development agency whose board consist of the fifty largest businesses in Southeastern Michigan, which consist of major automotive, banks, utilities, and auto supply companies.
The primary focus of the center revolves around what we call the “SCM” principle, which means delivering services such as Strategic Business Consulting, Access to Capital , and Access to Markets to Minority Business Enterprises (MBE).
The Center views its strategic and program partners through the SCM principle. The partners are viewed as to their function on committees and support groups as to whether they offer market opportunities, access to capital, management & technical expertise, or general support.
Strategic Program Support:
The Center relies on its partners to identify potential MBE’s who might need the general consulting services of the Center.
Access Capital:
In addition to the Detroit Renaissance affiliates, the Detroit Investment Fund and Detroit Community Loan Fund, the Center has on board as its program partners the major financial institutions in this local business community. This collaboration enhances the Center’s ability to identify MBE candidates who need to secure financing.
The Center relies on its partners to give it access to capital, and to identify MBE’s who might need loan package assistance.
Access to Market:
The Center acquires markets for our MBE’s through its strategic program partners network system.
The Center receives from its partners procurement opportunities with government agencies, major corporations, joint venture matches, as well as mergers & acquisitions opportunities for MBE’s.
